Rector Update

On Sunday 14 June, Dave shared the following update on behalf of the Vestry, Succession group and the Bishop of Edinburgh.

"At the AGM in January we told you that we would begin a process to find my successor as Rector of Ps & Gs. After 30 years, I sensed that it was becoming time for me to hand the baton on to the next person to lead this church into its next chapter. We followed a robust, transparent and public process that involved advertising the post, talking to possible candidates, receiving applications, conducting interviews and taking up references. The Succession group, chaired by Euan McRorie (Vestry Vice Chair), oversaw this process, praying to discern who God was calling to be the next Rector.

Now, with the full approval of the Succession group, the Vestry and the Bishop of Edinburgh, we are delighted to announce that the Rev Andy Croft has been chosen to be the next Rector!

He will become the Rector designate and then, in a few months, be installed and licensed as the Rector by the Bishop.

Please pray for Andy, Beth and their family – for Cathy and me – and for the staff and Vestry as we navigate the next few months to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. And do please thank the Succession group who have taken their roles very seriously – meeting regularly and praying throughout the process. We are so grateful to God for leading us to Andy, and for him feeling a deep sense of vocation to this role."

This was announced at all three services on Sunday 14 June and the news was very warmly received!
